Day 1: Arrival and Tour of Dublin
Arrive in Dublin where you will transfer to your hotel. Take a tour of Ireland's capital city on foot or take advantage of the Open-Top bus tour.
Attractions in Dublin include the world famous Guinness Storehouse, Jameson Distillery and The Book of Kells at Trinity College.
Overnight in The Merrion Hotel.
Day 2: Glendalough and Waterford
This morning, your chauffeur will pick you up and you will leave Dublin to see the delightful scenery of the Wicklow Mountains on the way to Glendalough. Learn about St. Kevin’s 6th century monastery in the Glendalough and walk through the site to see its round tower, church ruins and Celtic crosses.
Your chauffeur will continue the drive south to New Ross where you can walk through the reconstructed 19th century Dunbrody Famine Ship demonstrates the harsh conditions that emigrants endured. Later on, you'll arrive at your hotel in Waterford and, after dinner, take a walking tour around the narrow streets of the historic city.
Overnight in Waterford Castle Hotel.
Day 3: Waterford Crystal & Cork
Visit the House of Waterford Crystal to learn about glass blowing and cutting and see one-of-a-kind masterpieces. Travel along the south coast via Dungarvan to Cobh, the last port of call of the Titanic. A Titanic Trail walking tour will reveal many of the places associated with emigrants as they left Ireland for better lives overseas.
Your journey will continue as your chauffeur drives you through the outskirts of Cork city to reach the Blarney Woollen Mills, which stocks excellent Irish products. While Blarney Stone & Castle is not included in your tour, you will have time to kiss the “Stone of Eloquence” on your own.
Overnight in Ballyseede Castle.
Day 4: Lakes of Killarney & Dingle
Start your day with a traditional horse-drawn jaunting car ride to Ross Castle to view Lough Leane, largest of the Lakes of Killarney with a backdrop of the Macgillycuddy’s Reeks, Ireland’s highest mountains.
Then you'll head for the glorious Dingle Peninsula, made famous by two movies that showcased the scenery – “Ryan’s Daughter” and “Far & Away.” Your chauffeur will drive you along the south shore to admire heathery mountains and sandy stretches of beach. Continue right out to the westernmost point for scenic views of coastline and rocky headlands. In the town of Dingle visit the Dingle Brewing Company and at the end of the tour sample some of the beer.
Overnight in Ballysede Castle.
Day 5: Cliffs of Moher & Galway City
After breakfast this morning, you'll be driven to Foynes to visit the Flying Boat Museum, which recalls the early days of air travel during the 1930’s and early 1940’s. From there, you'll head to the coast of County Clare to view the Cliffs of Moher, which rise to heights of almost 700 feet above the churning Atlantic swells. Walk along the top of the cliffs to O’Brien’s Tower for great views. Once you've explored, your chauffeur will drive you through the Burren. Stop off in Galway City for a brief tour of the city.
Overnight in Ashford Castle.
Day 6: Connemara & "The Quiet Man"
Travel through Connemara to Leenane and embark on a Killary Fjord Catamaran Cruise around Killary Harbour, Ireland’s only fjord. As you sip an Irish coffee, see remains of houses and potato patches abandoned during the 1840s Famine as well as stunning scenery of rugged mountains not accessible by road.
Later, you'll stop at the Kylemore Abbey Visitor Centre for photos of the abbey’s tranquil lakeside setting. Take a walking tour around Cong to see movie locations of the 1952 production of "The Quiet Man."
Overnight in Ashford Castle.
Day 7: Dromoland Castle
You'll head south this morning to the imposing and deluxe Dromoland Castle Hotel. Give your chauffeur the rest of the day off while you relax in the elegant surroundings of this wonderful fairytale resort. Then savor a delicious farewell dinner in the oak-paneled dining room – a fitting way to spend the last evening of your Irish tour.
Overnight in Dromoland Castle.
Day 8: Return Home
Anything else you would like to do on your final day (depending on time of flight) can be done on this day before you chauffeur brings you to the airport and bids you farewell.
