      8 Day Capitals of Scandinavia Tour Itinerary

      DAY 1 – COPENHAGEN

      Arrival in Copenhagen and individual transfer to the hotel. Consider taking a walk in Tivoli Gardens, a must for all visitors to the city, that is located just a few minutes’ walk from City Hall. The scenery is beautiful with exotic architecture, historic buildings and lush gardens. At night, thousands of colored lights create a fairy tale atmosphere that is unique. Another must is taking a walk along the famous Nyhavn Canal, with its charming outdoor restaurants and picturesque cafés.

      DAY 2 – COPENHAGEN

      Discover the heart of the Danish capital, full of historical buildings and ancient streets. Copenhagen features modern architecture, a labrinyth of canals, pretty narrow streets and beautiful old homes. Admire the Little Mermaid statue, Gefion fountain, the Royal residence Amalienborg Palace, Christiansborg Castle, the home of the Danish Parliament, and the Royal Opera House. The Opera House has four identical classical facades with rococo interiors, and is located in an octagonal courtyard where the ceremonial ‘Changing of the Guard’ takes place. Recommended tours for the day: Royal Castle Tour or Canal Cruise.

      DAY 3 – COPENHAGEN

      Breakfast at the hotel. In the afternoon, make your way to the DFDS Ship Terminal, where you will embark the overnight cruise to Oslo. Dinner buffet included.
      Overnight in inside cabins (outside cabins are available upon request).

      DAY 4 – OSLO

      Breakfast on-board. Upon arrival in Oslo individual transfer to the hotel. During your stay in the Norwegian capital, you will have the opportunity to see the city’s finest sites including the Royal Palace, the National Theater, the Parliament, the Opera House on the waterfront, and the medieval Akershus Fortress.

      DAY 5 – OSLO

      Enjoy a walk through the magnificent Vigeland Sculpture Park, and then explore two of the most famous museums on Bygdøy Peninsula: the Fram Museum – to learn about brave Norwegian explorers and their amazing polar expeditions - and the Viking Ship Museum – to admire the world’s best-preserved Viking ships and learn about the rich Viking heritage.

      DAY 6 – OSLO, STOCKHOLM

      Reach Oslo Station on your own and take the train to Stockholm. Arrival in Stockholm and individual transfer to the hotel.

      DAY 7 – STOCKHOLM

      Start your visit of Stockholm, often referred to as the ‘Venice of the North’, at Fjällgatan. Here you can enjoy the magnificent view of the Swedish capital, spread out on 14 islands with Lake Mälar on one side and the Baltic Sea on the other. Afterwards walk through the picturesque narrow cobble-stoned alleys of the Old Town and stop by the Royal Palace, the cathedral, and the city hall, where the annual Nobel Prize Award is held. Round off the day with a visit to the Vasa Museum.

      DAY 8 – STOCKHOLM

      Individual transfer to the airport and get ready for your departure flight.

       

      Extension Tour - Helsinki & Tallinn

      DAY 8 – STOCKHOLM, HELSINKI

      After breakfast at the hotel make your own way to the pier, where you will embark the overnight cruise to Helsinki.
      Overnight in inside cabins (outside cabins upon request).

      DAY 9 – HELSINKI

      Have breakfast on board. Helsinki is called “the white city of the North” because of the light colors of its buildings.
      On arrival in Helsinki transfer to the hotel on your own. During your stay in the Finnish capital, you can admire its major sights such as the Rock Church, the Senate Square surrounded by the Lutheran Cathedral of Helsinki, the Senate, the University and Library of Helsinki, the Sibelius monument, the Olympic stadium, and the new Opera House.
      Overnight at the Scandic Gran Marina Hotel or similar.

      DAY 10 – HELSINKI, TALLIN

      After breakfast travel to the pier, where you will embark the cruise to Tallin (2 hours cruise). Upon arrival in Tallin head to the hotel on your own.
      After check-in go for a wonder around the city to admire the Alexandre Nevski church and Dome Church, and the 13-14th century Danish-German castle, today the seat of the Estonian Parliament. Continue onwards to the Lower part of the city. The highlights of this part of town are the Town Hall Square with the 15th century Town Hall, the 15th century pharmacy, and the buildings of Great Guild and Brotherhood of Blackheads.

      DAY 11 – TALLIN

      Individual transfer to the airport and get ready for your departure flight.
