      England is a big country and it can be very difficult to figure out where to go when you look at the map first. You know that London is a must-visit but where else should you look to go to get the most out of your trip to England. If you've got 2 weeks and love to move around the map, then you're already in the right place.

      The best part about this tour is that there is only ONE 1-night stay. Sometimes when you cover a lot of ground, you spend a night in each place and it begins to feel like less of a vacation and more of a chore. Here you will cover all of the best bits and it won't feel rushed.

       

      13 Day All of England Tour Itinerary

      Day 1 : Arrival & London Highlights

      Arrive in London and make your way to your accommodation. After checking into your hotel, go out and begin exploring this wonderful city. Take an open-top bus tour around the many famous landmarks that London has to offer. See all of the famous landmarks including Piccadilly Circus, Trafalgar Square, Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament. Board a 30-minute flight on the London Eye for incredible views of the city or visit the Crown Jewels at the Tower of London. Tonight, dine at an authentic London Pub before returning to your hotel.

      Day 2 : Covent Garden

      This city is a prime destination for some retail therapy, and this is a great day to take advantage of that. Peruse through the hip, trendy shops in London's Covent Garden where you'll find all things unique, one-of-a-kind and trendy. Enjoy lunch as you take your pick from countless restaurants and cafes in the area. Later, make your way to West End for a show which is just minutes away.

      Day 3 : Buckingham Palace & St. Paul's Cathedral

      After breakfast today, continue on with your exploration of London. Take a tour of the iconic Buckingham Palace to see the London residence of the Royal family. Visit the British Museum to see Egyptian mummies and a remarkable collection of human history. Step into St. Paul’s Cathedral and marvel at the amazing interior. While you’re there, be sure to climb the dome of the cathedral in order to enjoy spectacular views across London. Fun Fact: Prince Charles and Princess Diana were married at St. Paul’s Cathedral!

      Day 4 : Oxford & Warwick Castle

      Pick up your rental car and head north. Your final destination today will be York but there are many different paths you can take to get there. If you have time to visit all of Oxford, Stratford-upon-Avon & Warwick Castle, we advise you to do so. Known for its culture and prestigious university, the historic city of Oxford lays just the other side of the Chiltern Hills from London. Enjoy a gentle walking tour with a friendly tour guide. The college featured heavily in the Harry Potter films.

      Birthplace of William Shakespeare, the greatest writer in the English language, and home to the Royal Shakespeare Company, Stratford is a charming market town set in the heart of rural England. A delightful river winds its way through the town, past the beautiful Holy Trinity church, where Shakespeare lies buried. Built nearly 1,000 years ago, the Warwick Castle transports visitors back to the Middle Ages. Release your inner warrior by immersing yourself in the mock battle preparations, feeling the weight of a medieval sword and trying on a battle helmet – or just enjoy the show if you’re not feeling energetic!

      Continue north until you finally reach York and check into your accommodation.

      Day 5 : Experience York

      Rich in ancient history, romantic ambiance and fun activities, York is the perfect holiday destination for couples, families and groups. Renowned for its exquisite architecture, tangle of quaint cobbled streets, iconic York Minster and wealth of visitor attractions, York is a flourishing city. Delve into the city's vibrant café culture, take time out to enjoy some of the country's most talented street entertainers or simply watch the world go by while sipping a drink by the river. Be sure to visit The Shambles, a street of traditional timber-framed buildings which date back to the 14th century.

      Day 6 : Alnwick Castle & Seahouses

      Make your way north this morning as you drive from York to the large village of Seahouses on the Northumberland Coast. Along your way, stop and visit Alnwick Castle. One of Britain’s most iconic castles and no stranger to Hollywood film, Alnwick offers beauty, history and a royal touch at its finest. Explore its art collections and broad range of in-depth exhibitions pertaining to Britain. Among other things, you’ll come across glorious State Rooms, a meeting with the castle’s characters from medieval life and the Fusiliers Museum. If you’re brave enough, you’ll not want to miss out on The Lost Cellars – an adventure dwelling deep beneath the castle’s walls. Once you’ve explored all you wish, continue your drive to Seahouses. Check into your accommodation and have dinner in this lovely village in the evening. Later on, settle into your room for the night.

      Day 7 : Gretna Green

      You will leave Seahouses this morning for the natural beauty of the Lake District. Stop in the village of Gretna Green along the way. This is one of the world’s most popular wedding destinations. Historically it was to Gretna Green that young English runaway couples eloped so that they could be married. Gretna Green Famous Blacksmiths Shop, where couples have come to marry since 1754, is still here. The town of Gretna was built during the First World War to provide homes for 30,000 employees of a munitions factory that was the biggest in the world. Discover the story of the factory while you’re here. Continue onto your accommodation in the idyllic Lake District National Park.

      Day 8 : Lake District

      Drive deeper into the Lake District National Park to see the charming hills and valleys that inspired William Wordsworth’s poetry and enjoy lunch in the quaint village of Bowness. Enjoy a scenic cruise on Windermere, the largest lake in the area. England's largest National Park is home to Scafell Pike - its highest mountain, Wastwater - its deepest lake and thriving communities like Keswick and Bowness-on-Windermere so be sure to immerse yourself fully in the charms of the Lake District today.You can also journey north out of the Lake District to Hadrian's Wall. Hadrian's Wall Country has something for everyone - world class archaeology, spectacular landscapes, rare wildlife, complete solitude, vibrant cities, wonderful pubs and a population of friendly and welcoming people.

      Day 9 : Liverpool & Cotswolds

      Get an early start this morning as you have a long drive ahead of you. The drive to Bath is approximately 5 hours. Leave Windermere and drive south until you reach Liverpool. Stop here for a quick break from your long drive. Next, continue on until you come to the beautiful Cotswolds. You might like to spend some time getting lost in your natural surroundings of the Cotswolds. There are countless scenic drives, hikes and bike trails to be explored. Explore quintessential villages of honey-colored stone, take in splendid market towns, and walk through breathtaking landscapes along historic trails. Later, continue onto Bath and check into your hotel.

      Day 10 : Explore Bath

      Wake up this morning refreshed and revitalized and explore Bath’s many iconic sights: marvel at the magnificent Royal Crescent, The Circus, Pulteney Bridge and Bath Abbey and see all of those picture-perfect postcard attractions in Bath come to life. The city’s many museums and art galleries provide a rich and fascinating insight into fashion through the ages, 19th century astronomer William Herschel, Bath's industrial heritage, the life of Bath's most famous literary resident a the Jane Austen Centre and much, much more.

      Day 11 : Roman Baths & Dartmoor National Park

      This morning, visit the impressive Roman Baths to discover one of the finest historic sites in Northern Europe. Here you’ll find one of the greatest religious spas of the ancient world. Enjoy lunch at one of the many pubs in the area and then begin your journey south to the luxurious Bovey Castle, in the heart of Dartmoor National Park. Check-in and explore the beautiful and large property before going to dinner in one of the hotel’s lovely restaurants.

      Day 12 : Bovey Castle or Devon Tour

      Today can be as relaxing or as active as you’d like. Spend the day at Bovey Castle experiencing all it has to offer. Enjoy breakfast and then choose from a range of activities, including falconry displays, woodland walks, hot-air ballooning, or swimming. You can enjoy a spa treatment at the Elan Spa or play a game of golf on the castle’s beautiful 18-hole championship course. You can learn to make cider and sloe gin. You can even partake in archery or clay pigeon shooting.

      Another option is to go on a spectacular day tour with a local guide familiar with the hidden gems in the area. There is a wide range of tours you can go on and your tour guide will customize it around your own interests. You’ll spend the day with your very knowledgeable tour guide and see the beautiful Dartmoor National Park and the picturesque county of Devon.

      Day 13 : Return Home

      Make your way to either Bristol Airport or to Heathrow Airport in London for a late flight where you will return your car and begin your journey home.
