Day 1: Arrival and Tour Rome

Arrive at Rome Fiumicino Airport and make your way to your city center hotel. Drop your bags and set about exploring the city for the afternoon. You can choose to walk around or use the open top bus tour to make your way around this bustling cosmopolitan city. Be sure to see all of the main sights in the city including the Colosseum, Roman Forum, Vatican, Trevi Fountain, Pantheon, Spanish Steps, Circo Massimo, Piazza Venezia and more.

After a full day of exploring, be sure to indulge in a traditional Roman meal at a local trattoria. You can’t go wrong with a fresh and crunchy Romana pizza or the classic cacio e pepe.

Overnight at The Independent Hotel

Day 2: Explore Rome

One advantage to Rome is that there is never a shortage of things to do. Spend today visiting any sites you did not have the opportunity to get to since arriving in Rome. Spend some quality time admiring the city's ancient ruins and priceless art and architecture.

Overnight at The Independent Hotel

Day 3: Florence

Leave Rome this morning after enjoying breakfast and a cappucino. Begin your journey onto Florence, via the train. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the beautiful views that pass by your window. Florence is not the biggest city but that can work to your advantage as there is so much to see and do in a small area. The best way to see and learn about the city in a short amount of time is by taking a guided walking tour.

While out exploring, don’t forget to check out the artistic treasures of the Baptistery of San Giovanni, Santa Croce, Michelangelo’s David, and Piazza della Republica to name a few. There is no doubt you willbecome mesmerized by the beauty of Florence's Renaissance art, architecture, and people. Towering over the city is the most iconic building in Florence – Santa Maria del Fiore, or the Duomo. If you are feeling up for a challenge, make the climb up all 463 steps to the top of the Cupola. The panoramic view of the city from the top is well worth it. Not to mention the route to the top takes you up close to Vasari's frescoes of the Last Judgment.

Overnight at Grand Hotel Minerva.

Day 4: Florence Day Two

This morning wake up feeling refreshed. After a leisurely breakfast, make your way out to continue exploring. Use the Ponte Vecchio to get to the Oltrarno, or the "other side" of the Arno River. The Ponte Vecchio, or Old Bridge, is a medieval arch bridge over the Arno River, noted for having jewelry shops built along it. The Ponte Vecchio is the oldest bridge in Florence. During World War II it was the only bridge across the Arno that was not destroyed by the Germans. Once on the other side of the river, you can explore the vast art collection housed at the Pitti Palace.

Afterwards, unwind and enjoy the outdoors at Boboli Gardens. Just in time for sunset, make your way up to Piazzale Michelangelo - a square with panoramic views of the city. Enjoy the tunes of local street musicians while admiring some of the best views Florence has to offer.

Overnight at Grand Hotel Minerva

Day 5: Tuscany Tour

Experience the highlights of the Tuscan countryside in a fabulous one-day guided tour of Tuscany. This is the original Best of Tuscany tour with a small group, including shimmering olive groves, glorious vineyards, three quintessential medieval hilltop towns (Tuscany's most famous) and iconic Tuscan views. We bring the past to life with incredible stories while walking the same paths of famous artists from ages past and seeing classic Tuscan landscapes. If you have limited time and want to see Tuscany's most famous and beautiful hilltop towns, experience a historic wine estate and cellar in a magnificent setting, taste great wines and savor a delicious gourmet Tuscan lunch at an authentic ancient Tuscan wine estate then this is the tour for you!

Overnight at Grand Hotel Minerva

Day 6: Venice

Leave Florence this morning and continue your journey onto Venice, via the train. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the beautiful views that pass by your window. Venice is built on more than 100 small islands in a lagoon in the Adriatic Sea. There are no roads here, only canals – the most famous being the Grand Canal. Venice also boasts the Rialto Bridge, one of only four bridges spanning the Grand Canal and Piazza San Marco, home to Saint Mark’s Basillica and the Doge’s Palace. Become acquainted with this seemingly “floating city” by taking a walking tour or gondola ride.

Overnight at Savoia & Jolanda

Day 7: Venice Day Two

Venture out to Murano and Burano islands today. The tiny Venetian island of Murano is home to Venice’s glass making industry. Be sure to stop in and watch a glass blowing demonstration at a local glass manufacturer. Picturesque Burano is well-known for its brightly colored fishermen's houses and its casual eateries serving seafood fresh from the lagoon. After a day spent exploring the islands, head back to see some more of Venice’s main sites.

Overnight at Savoia & Jolanda

Day 8: Return Home

Say “arrivederci” today, as you make your way to the airport where you will board your flight home. We always recommend you check in three hours before your flight so be sure to give yourself plenty of time.
