The tour begins in Reykjavik, where you’ll be picked up at Keflavik Airport. You’ll have your very own Toyota Land Cruiser for the trip, but the choice is yours whether you prefer a driver-guided experience or the independence of a self-driven expedition. First, stop at the world-renowned geothermal spa, Blue Lagoon; an ideal way to unwind and reset after a long flight. Next, visit The Lava Tunnel, an awe-inspiring natural wonder formed thousands of years ago by volcanic activity.

Set off this morning with an exhilarating 2-hour ATV tour to the famous plane wreck across the vast black sand beaches of Sólheimasandur, offering an unforgettable backdrop. Next, visit Dyrhólaey Inselberg, or “door hill island,” a prominent promontory on Iceland’s southern coast. Continue to Reynisfjara Black Sand Beach, renowned for its dramatic beauty, and onto the charming village of Vík í Mýrdal, known for its picturesque scenery and quaint atmosphere.

They take charge of navigating the route and providing commentary and information about the sights along the journey. Guided 4×4 Self-Driven Expeditions: With this option, guests have the opportunity to drive their own 4×4 vehicles while being guided by a lead vehicle driven by the guide. The tour operates in a “follow the leader” format, with the guide leading the convoy from the front while guests follow in their own vehicles in a single line. Communication between vehicles is facilitated via radio, allowing participants to stay connected and informed throughout the journey. This allows guests to enjoy the thrill of driving off-road while still benefiting from the expertise and guidance of the lead vehicle.
