Day 1: The Journey begins
Once you arrive at the airport in London, you’ll pick up your rental car. From there, begin your journey along the Great West Way. Along your drive, you'll pass through some of England's most quaint countryside. When you arrive in the town of Swindon, get ready for some sightseeing and discoveries. Visit STEAM - the Museum of the Great West Railway. There's no better way to get a feel for the Great West Way's industrial history than with a stop at this gem. You'll get an inside look at one of the oldest railway systems in the world and its vital importance to the Great West Way's economy. Later on, head over to Lydiard Park. This 18th-century country house and estate gives you a peek into the finer things and luxurious side of England. Spend the rest of the day seeing the sights and surroundings at your leisure. A great place to relax is Wilts & Berks Canal. Later on, grab a bite to eat and settle in for the evening.

Day 2: Oxford & Blenheim Palace
Much more of England’s culture and stories are ready to be explored on the Great West Way today. Take a day trip to the idyllic, collegiate area of Oxford. This is the perfect area for a lovely stroll around English shops, gardens and cozy cafes. Tour the Bodleian Library and other campus gems to get the real Oxford experience. Literary greats like Lewis Carroll attended this university and got much of their inspiration here. Later, visit Blenheim Palace - England's answer to France's Versailles. The birthplace of Winston Churchill, Blenheim offers a wonderful look into England's rich history. There are many stories to uncover during your time here. After a day full of discovery, return to Swindon to rest and relax.

Day 3: The Ship that Changed the World
Leave Swindon this morning and continue along the Great West Way. Stop in the beautiful city of Bath where you'll be staying tonight. Check into your accommodations before hitting the road again. Not far from Bath is the most westerly point of this spectacular route – Bristol. This lively city is booming with intrigue and excitement. Check out the SS Great Britain, also known as ‘The Ship that Changed the World’. You’ll uncover how it earned that title during its rich past, along with many other gems along the way. For the chance to see a modern marvel with breathtaking views, you can visit the Clifton Suspension Bridge. This acts as a beautiful link connecting Bristol to North Somerset. It is truly a symbol of Bristol. You can explore the visitor center and take a free tour. For an even better view, we suggest you climb Observatory Hill. Or, if you’re more of an underground adventurer, the Leigh Woods Vaults surely won’t disappoint. Return to the historic city of Bath later on to discover the essence of what makes this city a UNESCO Heritage Site. Take the rest of the day to catch up on some sightseeing in this enchanting city.

Day 4: The Roman Baths & Stonehenge
Get ready to explore more of Bath today. This walkable city is full of charm and historical influence. Visit the Roman Baths and the Royal Crescent for a look at some of the gems Bath has to offer. Book lovers may wish to check out the Jane Austen Museum, as well. Austen once lived in the Bath region and much of her life's story is told at this facility. If you're up for a drive south, be sure to visit the iconic Stonehenge. It's one thing to hear about this famous rock formation, but to see it in person and marvel at its mysterious purpose is something else entirely. Spend some time settling in this evening as you prepare for another great day tomorrow.

Day 5: Windsor Castle
Leave Bath today and begin your journey to Windsor. Home to the oldest operating castle in the world and the Queen's royal residence, Windsor is a delightful stop on the Great West Way. A tour of Windsor Castle is a must. If you're lucky, a special flag will be flying when you arrive indicating the queen is currently there, too. You'll come across gems like the State Apartments and the church where Prince Harry wed Meghan Markle. Later on, stroll through the town of Windsor. This quaint area is full of English charm from its inviting shops to its cozy cafes. Enjoy a lovely dinner tonight and raise a glass as you toast to the Great West Way.

Head to the airport in London as you leave today and begin your journey home.
