To the waters and the wild – your escape to Dunmore East

Scenic & mindful trails | Greenway cycle | Boat trips | Celtic stories | Waterford alive!

Dunmore EastYou will be collected and depart the Tower Hotel after breakfast at around 10:30am. We shall head south east in convoy to Dunmore East, a short journey of 17 short kilometres or approximately 20 minutes. When we arrive in Dunmore East we will enjoy the 5km return walk by the cliff over to Portally Cove. It's not a case of walking at pace, more taking our time to enjoy the panoramic beauty that opens up before us as we pass along the headland. The views from the cliff provide the perfect backdrop to soak in the stillness and the peace of the universe. Mindful moments are added to guide us on our way. Portally beach has a way of slowing the pulse right down. Here, in this quiet haven, it's good to walk by the water's edge and feel the sand beneath your feet.

On return to the scenic Dunmore East harbour, we board the 'Keltoi Warrior' with Brendan for a boat trip out into the Bay where we check in on our lobster pots, try a little fishing and anchor in some quiet spot to enjoy our filled Waterford Blaa and refreshments. Time in Dunmore East is good for mind, body and soul. This unique 'still zone' has a way of drawing you back for more. We will find time for a stroll around the village, maybe even a dip in the sea, before returning to the hotel in convoy for 4.30pm.
